About This Station

The station is powered by a RainWise Mklll-LR weather station. The data is collected every 1 seconds and the site is updated every 15 minutes. This site and its data is collected using Weather Display Software. The station is comprised of an anemometer, a rain gauge and a thermo-hydro sensor situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible.

Las Vegas is the enterainment capital of the world, Some 40 million people visit each year. Lake Meade for boating and swimming is about 30 minutes away. MT Charleston is hiking in the spring and fall and skiing in the winter months. There are many differant casino to pick from for your gambling pleasure.

This site is located about 10 mile Northwest of downtown Las Vegas in the Sun City Summerlin subdivision. We are about 1000 feet higher then the strip and close to Lake Mead Blvd. and I-215 highway.

Weather Station Console

Information is collected with a RainWise weather station at 1 minutes intervale to a Computer and is then up loaded to Internet web site every 5 seconds. The data is also uploaded to Weather Underground every 5 seconds.

Weather Station ISS

The ISS is the remote sensor station which collects temperature, humidity, rain, UV, Solar, wind speed and direction. This station is solar powered with battery backup.

Computer System

The computer is a Dell 8900 with Intel Core i7-6700 CPU @3.40 GHZ, 8.00 GB of ram with Windows 7 64 bit. It is backed up with the APC 1500 which gives about 1 hour of power to update the server, cable modem, and router. There is also a Labjack for Koi pond, spa temperture, and lightening detector. The computer is running Weather Display which collects all the information and then uploads to the host server. It also creates graphs and store all the records for the weather. Weather Display can create its own web page, and can be run as a stand alone program.
